Meet Geke Jonkers Geke (58) has been employed at DOC Kaas since 2004. She started as a telephone operator / receptionist and by way of the financial department ended up in the technical services department. Here she primarily works on updating maintenance data in various computer systems: “When I was young, every now and then, I used to go to the DOC Kaas cheese store with my grandfather (a former dairy farmer). In the factory, my grandfather’s cow milk was used to make cheese, butter and other products, which piqued my interest in the company. I find it meaningful to be part of a production process that produces products with which we can make people ‘happy’. DOC Kaas is a good employer and also has good terms and conditions of employment. You are given the opportunity of contributing ideas and to continue to grow. During my time with the company I have worked in different departments. The company also organises enjoyable company outings. Every two years we go away for a weekend – sometimes beyond our borders – and almost every month there is an activity, such as an escape room or making chocolate. This contributes to a good atmosphere at the office, because you get to know each other from a different perspective.” What colleagues have to say
